What children learn from Bible stories

Tessa is saying her bedtime prayers:

"...and Jesus don't let the king cut my baby sister in half."

Morbid. THINK about the bible stories that we often call CHILDREN's bible stories. Excile from Egypt (death of first born sons, water turned to blood), Joseph being tossed in a hole by his brothers and then sold as a slave (EXTREME sibling rivalry), Moses being sent off in a basket because more babies were being killed, Solomon splitting babies (you can NOT explain to a 3-year-old that Salomon didn't really INTEND to cut the baby in half) Sampson the superhero who slept with Delilah...oh my, it goes on and on.
